Definitely the poorest in the "Private" series. Slow, boring, dull, too many characters, difficult to read. I had to struggle to finish it, Obviously Patterson had little to do with the writing of this book.

“Private India: City on Fire” by James Patterson and Ashwin Sanghi is the 8th book in Patterson’s “Private” series. In this story, Private Investigations is brought in on a murder investigation in Mumbai that turns into a serial killer…

Santosh Wagh lost his wife and child in a car accident. He drank to forget the pain and is trying to stay sober to head the Private India office. There is a serial killer who is killing women and needs to be stopped. I like this series…

As always, you get pulled in and are in for the ride. A few little twists and turns, like that it takes a little to figure it out ... usually just about at the end lol

Took me awhile to finish the book but once I got about half way through part 2 I thought the book got pretty good and finished quickly. Not one of his best but i've read worse.

Just not one of Patterson's best. While the familiar framework is there with main and supporting characters introduced rapidly and with rising and falling suspicions this one just didn't take off. Kudos for trying to get a take on…

After 250 long pages, i had to put this one down. All of the other novels in the Private series were interesting and enjoyable. Not this one, I dislike saying this about any book, but this one sucks.

Hardy even worth the time rating this one. Hard to follow and badly written. I just couldn't even finish it.

I think you have to really enjoy a multi plot book, to enjoy this one! Because it has many, it is not your usual run of the mill plot. Santosh Wagh has a drinking problem due to the death of his wife and son. I agree with some of the…

Badly written, and not helped by sloppy editing. Obviously, Sanghi's first language is not English (which is fine, but that's where a good editor steps in to tweak it). Unfortunately, the problems only start there. The issue some…

I've probably read at least 40 novels by James Patterson and I honestly have to say that this book is the only one I haven't liked. Because the setting of the book is in Mumbai, all of the place names and character names are in various…

Not his best Private novel. Too many convoluted plot lines and characters. Hard to follow.

As usual this was a great read. PRIVATE India kept my interest and I couldn't put it down.

Didn't bother to finish it... Reads like an overview summary, not a novel. Once again, "Patterson lite"

I agree with the others, not a good book at all. He just loses you in the first few chapters and you hope it gets better but it doesn't. I am losing faith in his newer novels.

A great disappointment. I don't think Patterson wrote more than three pages, rest was written by Sanghi. The characters and location names made it difficult to have any sense of figuring out who was who. As far as locations... TMI, TMI !…

Opened this book three times but just couldn't do it again. Seems like it was written to guarantee his book a year obligation.

I love James Patterson, but this book was a failure, after 145 pages I gave up, no interest in trying to trudge through it.
