THEY EXPLODED DURING rush hour. Pressure cooker bombs hidden in the first-class carriages of commuter services running from Mumbai's financial district to suburbs. Amid the hunt to find those responsible, fresh battle lines were drawn.

Comment
Add a CommentTook me awhile to finish the book but once I got about half way through part 2 I thought the book got pretty good and finished quickly. Not one of his best but i've read worse.
Just not one of Patterson's best.
While the familiar framework is there with main and supporting characters introduced rapidly and with rising and falling suspicions this one just didn't take off.
Kudos for trying to get a take on India. Results not too good. Pass this one by folks.
After 250 long pages, i had to
put this one down. All of the other novels in the Private series were interesting and enjoyable. Not this one,
I dislike saying this about any book, but this one sucks.
Hardy even worth the time rating this one. Hard to follow and badly written. I just couldn't even finish it.
I think you have to really enjoy a multi plot book, to enjoy this one! Because it has many, it is not your usual run of the mill plot. Santosh Wagh has a drinking problem due to the death of his wife and son.
I agree with some of the people who read this book that Sanghi English is not perfect, but I think it does give more to the read as it is not set in the USA or Canada.
Badly written, and not helped by sloppy editing.
Obviously, Sanghi's first language is not English (which is fine, but that's where a good editor steps in to tweak it). Unfortunately, the problems only start there.
The issue some people seem to be having over the character names is understandable if one is not familiar with the culture - choosing simpler, more "Anglo-sounding" names might have helped.
Didn't like the charmless, alcoholic Wagh - I want my Private agents to be calm, cool, and collected - isn't that why we read these things?!?
Felt like something that was just pushed out to keep the franchise going. If I were Patterson, presumably having allowed this to be released with his name on it, I'd be nervous! Long-time fans deserve better...
Couldn't settle in to it and finally gave up less than halfway through.
I've probably read at least 40 novels by James Patterson and I honestly have to say that this book is the only one I haven't liked. Because the setting of the book is in Mumbai, all of the place names and character names are in various Indian languages--Marathi, Hindi, Mumbaiya, etc. Due to my own unfamiliarity with those languages, it made the book a more difficult read. I had to be overly focused on the names and that distracted me from the storyline.
Certainly not one of his best. Didn't bother to finish it.
Not his best Private novel. Too many convoluted plot lines and characters. Hard to follow.
As usual this was a great read. PRIVATE India kept my interest and I couldn't put it down.
