They're racing against a rival explorer to reach the South Pole, but with unstable ice, killer whales, and raging blizzards, the journey turns into a race against time. . . and a struggle to stay alive.

Ranger is a golden retriever that is able to travel through time with an old metal first aid kit. He has also been trained as a search and rescue dog. When the first aid kit begins humming, Ranger knows that he will be taken to another time and place. On this trip, Ranger is taken to New Zealand to help a little boy named Jack Nin. Ranger finds himself on a ship called the Terra Nova helping Jack who has stowed away on the ship. Jack is found by the ship’s captain Robert Falcon Scott who becomes Jack’s friend. Jack does his best to help on the ship but there are many struggles for the ship’s crew. They must battle killer whales, blizzards, and icy waters to survive.
