“The Take” gives John Lequizamo, Rosie Perez and Bobby Canavale excellent opportunities to show their true excellence as actors. A bonus is that if you were to convert this to 4x3 black and white, this film would rate among the best of film noirs. Ok, so the victim solving the crime instead of the police is a little fantasy, but so is the Hitchcockian innocent man, a guy who has to keep one step ahead of the police to prove his innocence. A fun ride. A nice opportunity for these Hispanic-American actors to get wider exposure to the general American audience.
