My gosh! How bad can these scripts get!?!
Suffice it to say that EVERY Follywood pitfall "syndrome" is in this one. Yes, it's completely absurd, unrealistic, and totally predictable (down to the minutest detail; e.g. the killer was predictable, as was the method and outcome, etc.) too. Peppered with the usual gay theme, gratuitous sex, and bizarre characters, to round out this "triple-header". (Like, um, psychopathic serial killers are a dime-a-dozen, and it's easy to find them in groups.) : P For an encore, the writers & producers get extra points for making every single situation, response, & character in the film, completely unrealistic. Good job guys. That takes talent!!

I recommended the purchase of this movie because all the outside scenes were filmed right here in Seattle and Seattleites will get a kick of out watching them unfold on locations they are familiar with; including one short scene where Al Pacino's taxi pulles up in front of the Seattle Central Public Library and Al Pacino gets out. Apparently the Library building is supposed to be FBI Headquarters ha ha. After watching it on NetFlix I decided to write a comment on the SPL Dvd version and was surprised that the library did not own a copy.
Unfortunately this movie isn't really that good; and Al's acting is mediocre compared to some of his other great performances. This is a 2007 movie; perhaps it became available on Dvd in 2013.
The photo on the Box makes Al look considerably younger than he appears in the movie and he sports no facial hair in the movie. Clearly that picture is from an older movie.
There are some pretty gross scenes in the movie so be prepared for them. When we hear Jack tell the story of why the killer gives him 88 minutes it is so horrifying you might want to turn off the sound I wish I had never heard it myself.

It now seems that SPL used to have a copy of this movie because numerous comments going back to 2008 have appeared below this comment which was alone when I posted it. You're on the ball SPL!

Nothing new to the storyline... predictable, but good... Al Pacino played his character very well.

Al Pacino played his role well. The movie was a crime thriller. I don't enjoy watching murder scences and couldn't let my myself get involved enough to enjoy the suspense. I also picked had the killer identified way early in the film

Watchable but lame. Predictable but Al looks good. Lelee Sobieski is in her worst role.

Pacino at his worst. Not recommended.
