This is a good book on the topic, and is a worthwhile read if you don't have internet access, BUT if you have internet access you could really just use a free website like www.spreeder.com. They allow you to simply copy & paste material you would normally read (from emails, websites, etc.) into their online program and it will display your reading material in timed chunks of 1 to 4 words for you to practice speed reading with. I use it daily myself with excellent results, and it's very nice because it uses your own reading material instead of some random junk you wouldn't normally read. You set the speed and the chunk size for optimal practice. This book gives some good tips and pacing techniques for reading printed books, and is worthwhile to read, BUT I would seriously suggest reading it AFTER you use a program like provided at spreeder.com for a while to actually get you in the practice of reading faster. There are lots of other free online speed reading exercise sites as well, spreeder is just one.
