I went into this with some hesitation, because people were complaining that it was "confusing" and "felt like two movies put together". But I didn't get that impression at all. Yes, there are two storylines going that intersect near the end, but that's a totally normal thing in movies, especially the Star Wars franchise. If the people can't handle that, they should avoid the Star Wars movies, especially the prequels. In fact, I'm going to make a very unpopular statement: I thought it was better than The Force Awakens. There, I said it. TFA was a decent movie, but the storyline felt a bit lacking. I realize they had a lot of characters to introduce, but I still felt like it was missing something. I also hated how they had killed off Han. I could deal with him dying, but not in such a brutal way - it felt a little too much like Steven Moffat killing off all the good characters in Doctor Who. (Don't get me started on Amy and Rory. I'm still not over it.) I would have preferred a more dignified sending-off of such a legendary character. The Last Jedi, on the other hand, had absolutely no lull to it. I loved that the secondary characters like Finn, Poe, and Rose (I freaking LOVED Rose) played an integral role in this one.
