Personally, I prefer Melanie Dickerson's books on the Princesses a bit more, but I guess this book was okay. The protagonist is threatened with the sake of lives of others, and is caught up in a "mutiny." Unable to reach assistance, she becomes a servant to her own and tries to figure out what could happen next. However, I did not personally like the personality of Magdalen. She seemed too simpleminded at times and acted as if she had no spine. Some may say she is compassionate, but I just think she was meek and the author overdid her "softness". The Duke was interesting to read about, but overall this is not one of my favourites. - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
