Scottoline's greatest talent is her ability to develop not only interesting, but believable characters. This keeps me coming back for more. This book, however, fell short in the plot area. There were two plots, and either of them would have made for a stimulating book but they danced around each other and made the book less than cohesive. Yes, this could happen in real life but it does not make a great book. As mentioned, Scottoline spends considerable time developing her characters but as her books near their endings, it is like she needs to wrap up the story and make closure. The endings are usually quickly done and often are confusing and don't follow the story logic. In some of the eleven books I have read so far, the endings are pretty far out. But she does have a gift for making her characters realistic.
